The murder of democracy in Thailand demands immediate global attention. With democracy under threat, the

ree

fundamental rights of citizens to participate in governance are compromised. Over the past election cycles, Thailand has witnessed a series of challenges and threats to democratic principles.

The Move Forward Party (MFP) has encountered political injustice. The MFP's victory in the last general election was seen as a threat to the Thai government, which used far-fetched legal reasons to disband the MFP. The government believed that the MFP threatened national stability or the monarchy, which led to eliminating political opposition in Thailand.

This blatant act aimed to stifle opposition voices and consolidate power, ultimately undermining the democratic foundation of Thailand. Such actions not only silence dissent but also deprive citizens of diverse political representation, curtailing their rights. Media freedom, a cornerstone of democracy, faces persistent threats in Thailand, with government restrictions and intimidation tactics undermining its integrity.

These actions exacerbate political tensions, fostering societal divisions and impeding the democratic process. We call upon international bodies to ensure justice for the Move Forward Party and uphold democratic principles. Addressing these challenges requires concerted international efforts alongside domestic measures. By fostering inclusivity, transparency, and fairness, we can lay the groundwork for a robust democratic future in Thailand and beyond.
